Business has been struggling to become cost efficient in the business performances and corporations have implemented technology attempting to reach that goal. Therefore, I have chosen this topic because RPA cuts down the costs for human labor saving up to 70% of the process costs helping corporations to reach their maximum potential. (Petäjämaa, 2017)

RPA (Robotic Process Automation) is a part of artificial intelligence utilized for automating structured, rule-based and repetitive business tasks. Before RPA, corporations use traditional automation such as legacy system. In the present, RPA transforms corporate sectors to more efficient by adding accuracy, speed and consistency to the existing digital workforce. (Petäjämaa, 2017) Therefore, it takes business closer to cost efficient goal and effective business performances resulting in an increase in customers’ satisfaction.

How RPA does it?

RPA automates processes through capturing data from different departments of the business then responding to business. For instance, a commercial bank automates 13 processes through RPA to deal with 1.5 million requests per year that would have taken 230 full time employees. (Petäjämaa, 2017) This proves that RPA can relieve corporations from salary cost on human labor with its capability to perform the certain tasks with more accuracy and quality.

RPA adds efficiency to business through increase of human capitals’ productivity, integrating manual business procedures by taking over repetitive tasks and completing them with more quality thus, reducing cost and time consumption in tasks performances. Employees are relieved from the burden of work repetitions as well as decreasing human error in decision makings. This digital workforce boosts human capital’s productivity from working manually such as allowing employees to concentrate their workforce on adding creativity and value to business. For instance, employees traditionally had to log in to check and validate new orders occasionally then proceeding to responding to each with pricing and discounts based on customer’s contract. However, RPA has eased the administrative work of logging in and all employees have to do is validating the customer’s order according to their contract. (David Schatsky, 2016)

How has RPA made business tasks efficient?

  • Scheduling system: In healthcare sector, RPA increases the convenience in allocating patient appointments through data of patients’ information.
  • Filtering information from websites for the best deal: RPA filters traveling deals to meet the users needs through capturing data off websites then displaying the final decisions for users to pick.
  • Credit Card Issues decision: RPA decides for us on who should receive the credit card through processing information and documents of the applicants to the requirements of eligible for a credit card.
  • Receiving customer requests: When there is complex customer’s query, RPA integrates all the customers’ information from different departments within the company into a single screen for the employee to proceed to an effective and helpful response. (Marr, 2019)

In conclusion, Corporation struggles to cut back cost to increase marginal profits every day. RPA process automation has contributed greatly to ease the corporation from time wasting and money in the human labor force by taking over rule-based, structured and repetitive business tasks allowing employees to focus more on adding value to product and service.
